We are a non-profit organization devoted to providing education for poor children in India. Since inception in 2003 to Mid 2019, we have granted over Rs 6.7 cr (around $975,000) through scholarships and infrastructure projects, benefiting over 34,000 children and 105 schools. We have multiple projects which are funded annually and hence seek funding to support this activity.
OpenIndia is run by unpaid volunteers with only 2 part-time employees in Chennai, with significantly low overhead costs under 2%. This allows us to maximize fund utilization towards our objective.
We are a registered non-profit charitable trust in India (80G) with both FCRA and 12A certification.
